Legalization of marijuana in chile
Many governments around the world continue to decriminalize marijuana, and Chile has just joined them.
The decision was made after Chile’s Lower House voted 69 to 39, with majority approving the bill supporting the decriminalization.
The bill allows for citizens to possess Marijuana for medicinal and spiritual use, and allows them to grow a maximum of 6 cannabis plants.
The Health Commission and Senate still have to approve the law for it to become a law.
Over 20 states in the United States have decriminalized marijuana, and Uruguay, in 2013, became the first country to provide a legal marijuana market.
